Are plastic floss picks recyclable?
Dental floss picks are made from hard plastic, and cannot be recycled due to their mixed material nature. Once single use dental picks have been used, both dental floss and pick must be thrown away. Reusing dental picks is not advisable, as you risk redistributing bacteria and fraying the floss.
Can you put toothpaste tubes in recycling?
Toothpaste tubes – these tubes are often made of different types of plastics, as well as containing a metal layer (in order to keep it minty fresh!). In general they are not recyclable, although there have been breakthroughs including by Colgate and Terracyle offer a recycling scheme for oral care products.
